Drawing a line of a fixed length, then snapping the centers of each cylinder to the endpoints of the line worked perfectly. Thanks!

By the way, I wish there was a "reset all" button for every viewpoint. I work in different viewpoints all the time, and one button to reset everything would speed up the process. Of course, that would also complicate the software more, and I like it for its simplicity!
