Hi Bill, yes definitely MoI models can be input into CAM packages for machining. Several people have already been using MoI in this manner, particularly for jewelry design.

The exact method used depends a bit on the particular CAM package, and on the method that you want to use for machining.

One common method is to export to the STL format which is then read by the CAM software or used by the service bureau.

Some CAM packages may be able to read .3dm files directly, and others may want to accept data in the IGES format which MoI can also export to.
