That's the first that I've heard about that... As far as I know any VC redistributable package should not have any effect on MoI at all.

Yup, and that's an intentional feature - that's so that when you install a new v3 beta for example it starts out initially with all of your customized settings.

Those settings are stored in the moi.ini file - if you like you can copy the moi.ini file to a new location and then pass the file path to MoI as a command line parameter in its startup shortcut, then it will use that particular file to load and save settings.

You can find the current moi.ini file that is being used by going to Options > General and push the Edit .ini file button, the location of the current moi.ini file will be shown on the dialog that comes up.
