Something has gone pop ... Investigation time - lol

The image is after opening a new file in v3 beta July, after beta 3 September started to show this issue. Even the full version 2 does it too. As you can see it can generate the curve for a solid sphere, but then the actual surface construction fails. I am uncertain if it's a corrupt driver or whatever at the moment, but thought you might find it amusing to see. Even if i draw a circle in top view, the curve is a circle, then select planar and i get a circular outline with a square surface in the middle - LOL

Any ideas folks before i start to pull the computer apart
