Hi Larry, nope there is no way to import text directly right now. For the moment you will have to use some other program (for example Rhino) to create the text and save it as an IGES or 3DM file.

I do want to add in a create text feature, I'm going to try to squeeze it in but I'm not sure if it will make it into V1 or not yet.
