Michael, I realized from the general response that I was in the small Mac/Moi3D minority that updated and had issues with the new beta. As my last post stated I made the discovery after I had updated. I did want not to roll back to Lion since most everything I use was set up and working . Since then I have been researching and tracking Wineskin and Mountain Lion issues after my post re crashes. Today I downloaded their latest beta 2.5.6 RC1 and voila!
I am able to run my favorite 3D app. So far so good i was able to quit and relaunch with no crashes as yet. I am hoping that you can also find a moment to test it on your machine to see if any tweaks need to be done etc. You may very likely see something that I my amateur tinkering may have missed. I hope this is useful.
