I don't know if this as been mentionned before but maybe it would be nice to be able to kind of switch from any "ortho" view to 3D view using only the mouse and some key and of course switch back from 3D view to one of the "ortho" view using the same mouse + key combo.

Or say we are in split or quad view and with some key "maximise" the view where the mouse is over, do your stuff and by hitting the key again revert back to the split view. This one could be possible right now with some script assign to a key.

On a relatively large screen, something like this would save a lot of mouse travel.
