How to apply a custom bevel to edges?

Hi artisanicview, do any of the above solutions work ok for you?

Basically to do a custom bevel like you are describing, you would use either 1-rail sweep with the path having sharp corners instead of little rounded corners, that will do mitered corners for the sweep which should construct the majority of the shape for you then you can focus on rounding the corners after the main part is constructed.

Or another possibility like Burr mentions is to use Rail Revolve - make the profile curve extend to the center point of the outline and then do Construct > Revolve > Rail Revolve, use the path as the rail and make the revolve axis vertical through the same center point and that can make results like this:
