One way I can think of is by creating two spheres 1mm apart, then insert and extruded solid version of the teddy bear (>1 mm) and then boolean them together to get the surfaces you need. You may need to join them to create a solid.

Or, project the teddy bear onto both spheres and then loft or blend the resulting profiles to get what you need.
