System Spec

Hi Steve - actually that speaker model with all that woven mesh stuff in it is a pretty high complexity model that will tend to tax system resources.

A large number of skinny long tubes like that tend to be much heavier in NURBS geometry than in polygons.

Try turning off hidden lines display and bumping up the mesh angle to 25 or 30 degrees and uncheck "Add details to inflections". That will likely help somewhat - by default something that is tightly curved like those little tubes will get really a lot of polygons generated in the display mesh, the default settings are somewhat oriented towards making a nice smooth display but if you've got a heavy model the default settings can tend to generate an overly dense display mesh that bogs things down.

But that kind of dense number of tightly curved little tubes is actually getting into a quite high complexity level, that's not really a very good example of a "medium" complexity object.

I'd recommend watching the video tutorials from the main documentation here:
http://moi3d.com/2.0/docs/tutorials.htm

Those go step by step building a few different simple models and generally explain the overall modeling approach.

Then there are additional tutorials linked to here:

But I'd recommend doing the above ones first.
