Hi Bard, there was a major change in the AI format between version 8 and version 9 - from v9 onwards it's actually a PDF file which has a significantly more complex structure to it.

MoI will still try to read the PDF file versions, but it's so much more complex than the v8 and earlier file structure that it's much more reliable to use the older style format when it is possible for you to do so, just because MoI's PDF import handling is not very refined.

Getting doubled lines may be something like the file is storing 2 separate paths for something that has a stroke and also a fill or something like that, rather than having 1 path that then has a stroke & fill instruction at the end of it. Something like that anyway. If you want to post a simple file that has the doubled lines in it I could maybe give some better information on what is going on in that case.
