I did leave a small space on the top and right side of the flat plane and it seemed to work OK but I could see how it could cause problems with the top/bottom of the target mapped sphere.

This is a dome friends and I made before the days of 3D.;)

PS. - we didn't kill the moose, they were there when we got there.
