If you select a surface object, you can turn on its control points by using the Edit > Show pts button on the side pane here:




Note that you can't usually show points on a solid that is made up of a whole bunch of surfaces joined together - only on individual surfaces that are not joined to others. You can use the Edit > Separate command to break apart a solid into individual surface objects.
