Yeah that should be possible.

But also this particular thing with long names from STEP imports will probably not be that way forever - at some point I'll have some kind of assembly instance mechanism in MoI and you would get some kind of tree view hierarchy for those things.

Right now I think the STEP file library gives back those long names with stages in them because I only ask it to give me back plain geometry and not assembly and instanced structures.
