An outline would be interesting, although not important if it's difficult to do.

Having continuous edges joined would be interesting .
In the example Ostexo provided, the line (in red) is segmented in small arcs.





I do a lot of those type of illustrations, I'll try to dig out some also.
But the example provided by Ostexo is a good one, it shows how images are constructed in a general fashion.


Also preserving the color of objects in the AI export would be quite handy.
