I'm actually kind of surprised that this works as well as it does using such large numeric units, there tends to be a loss of accuracy in various numeric calculations when using large numbers but curves in general are not too sensitive to it. If you tried to make solids at such a large scale you would probably run into more issues with the large numbers being used.
