I was just preparing some screenshots for a client and noticed that when I use specular highlights in the lighting options, there are Streaks of light going through the objects. When I turn off specular highlights, they go away...but so do the nice shiny specular highlights. The only workaround I can think of (while using specular highlights) is to tilt the camera in such an angle that I can't see them.
