You dont have to actually draw/commit the line. Just start the tool and read the data you want, then end the tool with the esc key or cancel button. There is a script that reads distance and coords but not angles. Look for CustomDistance on "petr's MoI page on the MoI resources page at moi3d.com. For the angles you'll just need to look at the angle field when running the script.
