Hi Anis, according to
http://accad.osu.edu/~pgerstma/class/vnv/resources/info/AnnotatedVrmlRef/ch2-23.htm

quote:

2.3.3 Node statement syntax

A node statement consists of an optional name for the node followed by the node's type and then the body of the node. A node is given a name using the keyword DEF followed by the name of the node.

So it sounds to me like there is a mechanism available in VRML for providing names for things, but it is optional. Probably whatever you are using for converting it does not try to put in the names.

VRML is a kind of an obsolete file format these days... It may be awkward to be able to find good tools to use it.
