I suppose you're allready aware of it, but there are few annoying things in the image backdrop system :

1) There are no undo actually, placing the images in a 3D space isn't really easy (for me), but without any placement undo it's really stressing.
2) It would be really nice if images react like a 'normal' plane object, with all the object snap options working (center detection/snap for example). I mean, I can easly move, center, adjust a plane in MoI, but placing an image is so tricky.
3) The select/move only behaviour is really annoying, wouldn't be possible to select (and keep selected) an image, so you can move it after from any other viewport for example ? And maybe to be able to use any transform tool on the selected image and not only rely on the handler.
4) Images are pure 2d elements, for example, I can't see/move the front image position in the right viewport .... a profile should be visible, at least during the placement editing.
