Moi for dummies

Ok all,

Really dumb question. I understand the principles of 3D cad, it is just the implementation it driving me nuts.
I am rather new to 3D cad. (go ahead and laugh, just not too hard) ;-)

I am not a designer just a lowly c# developer.

I have received some great info from Burrman on how to draw profiles around a curve and then sweep them into a nice radius.

When I attempt to draw the profiles up from the Right view port (z axis) and then across the x or y axis. I am having all kinds of problems
getting the profile to go in the correct direction. I have tried to go across view ports but my profile lines look rather wiggly all over the place.

When I show points than attempt to align, oh boy, what a mess. The examples I have seen here on the forum are all beautifully neat an organized.

For us graphically-challenged types. What are some basic tips and tricks to lining things up and being able to work across multiple axes.

Thanks

Joe
