Hi Danny, yes it will work on solids in a similar way.

If you have multiple solids selected, it will move each solid in a radial manner, away from the center of the bounding box around all of them, keeping it whole.

It's pretty simplistic, it's probably not going to give you a proper technical exploded diagram but it may be useful for a quick illustration screenshot or something like that.
