If you are particularly interested in the continuity, you'll probably need to use an "N-sided patch" type command to fill an area like that, which MoI does not currently have.

Like Michael was showing it is certainly possible to fill in the hole in MoI currently but if you need special characteristics for the fill you will currently have to go outside of MoI to get that accomplished.

You could use SolidWorks (I think it is the "Fill" command there?) or Rhino, where it is called "Patch".

I do expect to be able to add this functionality to MoI at some point in the future though.
