I was thinking ctrl + mouse wheel... I'll add this to the list to try and jam into the beta after the next one.

I should probably be able to make an option for this in the 2nd next beta as well, probably. In the meantime, you know how to edit the UI files, right? So you can just go in there and delete the inner text in SidePane.htm if you want to see it right now.
