Excuse my ignorance but why would you need this?
Do you want to mix mm's and inches in one model or something?
Otherwise, you can use the units as you prefer...

I for example use the decimals as mm's (so 1,20 is 1 cm and 20 mm) but i could as well say 1,0 is 1 inch.
