MoI to Modo - problem with anisotropic reflections?

Thanks TS. That might be a good solution for examples as the one i posted(although I'd rather not punch a hole in my mesh). But I've also seen this problem on rectangular surfaces as well. It's funny because Rhino UV layouts and MoI UV layouts are basically the same if you don't "pack textures" when exporting from Rhino. But there is a surprising difference in the way that Modo handles them. Perhaps some difference in the vertex normal maps? I haven't had time to try different solutions. I will do some experimenting when i can...
