I do use Carrara but have not taken much time looking at the "rectangular" layer option, as I had little success. I now, if I need such positioning of multi-textures use the "model~ Shader Domains"

You will probably be better to ask over at the DAZ forums, there will be many there that should be able to point you in the right direction.
