Arc is certainly easy - freeform curve is more difficult but still doable. I think I should be able to add these for the next beta.

It actually doesn't really bother me. I just generally expect MoI to be used alongside many other applications frequently.

But let me ask you - from your hobbyist point of view, what do you think is the breaking point where something becomes too expensive and out of reach?

Yeah, I think this should work out well. Since MoI's approach to modeling is so different than polygon modeling, it has a very different set of strengths and weaknesses, so I think that makes it useful as an additional complimentary tool.
