Well that's exactly how bloat occurs - nobody intends to "add bloat", they intend to add new important missing features. Bloat is a side effect of that.

It doesn't mean that I'm not going to ever add new features, but it does mean that I tend to wait to add them until there is a good plan in mind for where they fit in the UI without making it too complex.

Priority tends to go to things that improve the basics.
