I'm trying to offset this simple surface (created using network and planar from curves), but it won't generate a solid.

1. The surface is joined and then Offset Shell command given with a number of 3.
2. The resulting object is not a solid
3. Show naked edges shows THIS (?)

Any help is much appreciated!
