My advice would be for you to check out CamBam - it is far more advanced than Cut2d and will work with dxf, stl, Gerber, 3D Studio and Excellon files, as well as allowing gcode to be imported back in and converted to geometry.

I believe CamBam is a similar price to Cut2d. Also, remember that MoI V3 has dxf input/output capability now.
