Yes, one finger is used for the scrolling feature. I'll attach images of the control panel so you can see the various gestures that it uses.

My MacBook is kept closed at work and I "dock" it with a Apple Cinema Display, so I don't use the track pad. At home, I use the MacBook open. I just did a little testing with the track pad and everything works as it's supposed to. I can pan and tilt, zoom in and out via the 2 finger pinch and can rotate, as well.
