You could read into groups with a hierarchy, and it could be compatible with MoI's current object list structure.
Corel and Illustrator allow you to manage your objects>groups in a hierarchy list.

So really a hierarchy list is just a written description of the structure to your groups and objects within groups within groups and so forth...
