Thanks Guys, it's pretty easy to set up if you have animation software that can keyframe your
texture's U/V position. I set this up in trueSpace 7.61 because it renders animation fast (3-4 frames/sec.)
Moi NURBS create great UVs from a sweep with poly export so all you need to do is apply your texture &
keyframe the UVs from 0 to 1 for each rotation.
Modo has a similar setup, U & V offset is keyframed/animated.
