My method was to create a 24 sided polygon (since I had 20 text objects that wrapped around approximately 80% of the circumfrence) about the size of the base of the object. I would line up 1 text object at a time then rotate the whole thing 1 turn clockwise. Rinse and repeat.

Not perfect but I think good enough for what I am after.
