Display problem

Hi,

This looks like a great program ... except I have a display problem - I can't actually create anything :(
I have a Wacom tablet and ornary PS2 mouse. The display works as far as navigation is concerned - I can pan, rotate and so on and select buttons but cannot draw anything. I've tried both the tablet and mouse. I can get a few crosses and circles to register if I click the zoom button but nothing usable.

Here are some system specs:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)
