I am a beginner too.

I did:

1. traced your top view
2. traced your right view, extruded it, rotated it around, and lined it up with the top tracing
3. construct>curve>project to project it on the curve
4. boolean cut out the petal
5. offset the thickness (dont extrude, it wont be a radial calc on the edges).
6. lofted the edges.
