Hi MoI users,
Let’s say I have a simple 3D object — like a curved box or a bumpy surface made from lofts. Then I have a flat 2D curve (just a line) floating above it on the XY plane.
Is there a way to “drop” the 2D curve onto the 3D object’s surface so that it sticks and follows the shape — like it wraps down due to gravity? Basically, I want the curve to become 3D and conform to the surface, like projecting it straight down in the Z direction.
I tried using the Flow command, but it seems to need a base and target surface with matching UVs, and it distorts the result. I also tried Silhouette, Iso, etc., but none of those do what I want.
Does MoI3D support anything like Rhino’s Project or Fusion 360’s “Project to Surface”? Or is there any workaround to make a curve follow a 3D surface shape like that?
Thanks in advance!
