It isn't against license terms, but it means you have your current problem where you need to do some extra setup work every time you install a new release because all of your added stuff isn't stored in a central location that can be seen automatically by every install.

How do you run v4 on your other computer, do you copy D:\MoIv4 over to the other computer every once in a while? Or do you have D:\MoIv4 as a network share and you run it directly from there?

Those buttons come from .js script files inside appdata\startup . Make sure the v5 appdata\startup has the same files in it as your v4 appdata\startup.
