No specific problem!
As you see the generic curve of the sphere don't interefere with the volumes
so boolean & Insert are possible easily!

- The trick is to click on a "Face(s)" and not on "Solid(s)"! (otherwise the function Insert won't work)
- here "Inward" + "Groove" on the top face!
- Union of Top & Bottom Solids
- then Shell on top and Fillet on some edges!
