Personally I have not built boats, but I would like to make a small rowing boat, as well as having a personal project of a motor boat, in my harddisck I have 3D models of all types, from fishing boats to landing craft, I also made drawings technicians and 3D models for shipyards and architects, I am a technical designer with a passion for boats, and I have the opportunity to collaborate on different projects, some products and others only in the form of a concept.

As for the subdivision surfaces, used mainly to model complex surfaces, it is a workflow that I have been using for many years, and only with the latest developments in CAD, I have started to integrate them, because I am very comfortable with the fast concept, and I have achieved a high level of precision in handling this geometry.
With the latest version of Moi3D I found the way to make the control cage with Blender, of which I am an old user, and I used FreeShip and DelfShip, which uses the same geometry, and also with Rhinoceros I started with version 2 and then I switched to Moi3D.

However, the subdivision surfaces are practically similar to Nurbs and Moi3D can import control cages from the OBJ format, generating identical surfaces, as you can see in this images bellow

In the forum I shared several tips but they got lost over time obscured by various topics.

Here are some of these tips, but it is nonetheless a continuous learning of new techniques to interpolate these tools, which I have been starting a few years ago.

Below attached there is a simple example of a hull in OBJ format that you can test by importing with the new functionality present in Moi3D 4 with the SubD command, create.

I would like to make some complete tutorials but the time to do something is not much, but I will do something sooner or later.
