If that were to happen then it would be an important bug to fix and if the beta was not set to behave like the v5 final version did the bug would not get caught during the beta test period.
It's helpful in general to gain stability and reliability by having the beta version behave like the final version as much as possible.
Suddenly switching various behaviors just after the beta period ends is a good recipe for having bugs appear in those areas.
