Hi BlackBird, sorry no there isn't any function for removing points from a surface. Point editing on NURBS surfaces has some limitations because a NURBS surface is inherently structured as a grid made up of rows and columns, you can't just insert or delete a single point out of it.

If you're doing surface control point manipulation you might want to look at sub-d modeling, it is a lot less restrictive about it.
